When I asked Selim Philip Sarraf about the significance of Constantinople embossed on some of the older photos of Karim and his Philip, he wrote: "When you see Constantinople embossed on the corner of any photo, that definitely means that the photo was taken at Constantinople (Istanbul), which was the capital of the Ottoman empire where my father was working before he came and established himself in Aleppo and got married."
