Neil Joseph Fischer, Sr. was interred in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery on April 19, 2010.


John Frederick Fischer and his wife Anna Catherine Murken are buried Hillcrest Abby Memorial Park at 1600 Wheaton Street, Section J, Lot 10, spaces 4 & 5. The entrance is at a stop light. Bear to the left as you enter as there are two cemeteries at the light. There is no marker for Anna.


I wrote concerning the marker in October 2001 and received this reply.
"In our search we found the following...John Frederick Fischer section J, Lot 10, space 4. Next to him is Anna Catherine Murken section J, Lot 10, space 5. John George Fischer is in the Rose section, Lot 61, space 5 and his wife Catherine Fischer is in Rose, Lot 61, space 6. Charles Henry Konemann is in section J, Lot 20, space 2 and Addie G. Koneman, section J, Lot 10, space 3. In addition to our search we also found Mr. & Mrs. J. H. Murken in the Nandina section Lot 242. This was all we could find. I hope this helps you and good luck on your search. D. Hamilton"

A follow up letter was sent 14 November 2001.
"After doing a little research, I have found no record of a marker ever being placed for Anna Catherine Murken Fischer.....Concerning John George Fischer and Catherine Fischer, I have contacted Bonaventure Cemetery and they are located in Section L, Lot 373....In regards to the Lot of Rose 61, it was purchased in 1951 for the Jaugstetter Family.... NOTE: Meta Adalar Fischer was married to Charles Jaugstetter.

Son of John George Fischer's sister Adlena Fischer and Slocum whom she divorced.
John and Katie adopted William but he died of tetnus at the age of nine.
