In 2000 we managed
to get back to Singer Island and Key West. We had a blast!

The
Miami Metro Zoo, still recovering from Hurricane Andrew, is still
one of our favorite places in South Florida. We love the giant
land tortoises - the Galapagos and Aldabra. Angel, on the left,
is over 80 years old and the Galapagos tortoise on the right is over
100 years old. |

explanatory.
Right: we pose for a photo with a Komodo Dragon.

Wonder what they'd do if we never came home?

Don't worry - none of us drink but we couldn't resist posing.
Chris
was asked to play President Truman's piano for the people on the tour
at the Little White House. He received a standing ovation! What an
honor to play the piano that President Truman loved so much that he
had it transported to and from the White House, the Presidential Yacht
and Key West! |
What
trip to Key West would be complete without a stop at the Southernmost
Point marker.
The kids are reunited with their old nemesis - The Sponge Man!
After
four short days the kids and Ollie are tired out and ready to go home.
I can't bear to leave my beautiful blue water so we stop as many times
as possible on the way home. This is from the overlook at the
Old Train Bridge that used to take the tourists to Key West. |
The
sign said DO NOT TOUCH THE LOBSTER
but look what happens when people don't listen!
Run for your lives. He's coming after us!
