Letter from Anoush regarding Grandpa and his family.
3/17/2005
Hello Kim:

I was finally able to catch Gabriel Stamboulian and asked him about your Grand Father. Gabriel said that your Grand Father name was George Saraf, had brother by the name of Antoine Abdul Kerim Saraf. Antoine Abdul Kerim Saraf was the one that saved the family from the massacre. Antoine Abdul Kerim was working at the Train Station In Aintab, Turkey as an Inspector.
As you know the last names were given by what type of trade or work the family was engaged. Since the Saraf family was in lending money, the exact translation Sarraf means lender. During the massacre, it was possible that they used Abdul Kerim or Abdul Razzak. Gabriel did not know more than the above info.
Gabriel is assuming that the family moved in Aleppo, Syria in 1918 or 1919. George Saraf's parents were buried in Aintab, Turkey. George had fought against the Turks with the French underground in Aintab, Turkey & Syria. That's about all the information I was able to get.

Love & Kisses, Antoine & Anoush Stamboulian
