Russell Sr., Joseph E.

Joseph E. Russell Sr., age 84, died Sunday, September 7, 2003, at his home.
    Born on July 7, 1919, the native and lifelong resident of Savannah was a retired electrician with the I.B.E.W., Local 508, and a member of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the European Campaign. Mr. Russell was a member of the Patrick A. Russell Post 4392, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion Post 184, the Chatham Artillery, the 30th Infantry Division, and the First Georgia Volunteers. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, #631, the St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee, and the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick.
      Mr. Russell was preceded in death by his wife, Henrietta F. Russell and a son, Patrick A. Russell, Sr.
Survivors: eight children and their spouses, Joseph E. Russell, Jr. and Carol M. Russell, of Savannah, Kathleen R. Inglesby and Henry B. Inglesby, of Alpharetta, Neil G. Russell and Jayne W. Russell , of Savannah, Christopher M. Russell and Karleen H. Russell of Savannah, John G. Russell and Susan C. Russell, of Savannah, Michael J. Russell and Cheryl C. Russell of Statesboro, Stephen F. Russell and Dana M. Russell, of Savannah, and Loretta R. Tyson and George A. Tyson, of Savannah; a brother and sister-in-law, John H. and Doris Russell of New Orleans, LA; 19 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
     Visitation: 6:00-7:00 p.m., Monday, September 8, 2003, at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. Rosary Service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2003, at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. Burial: Bonaventure Cemetery.
