This is the porch I remember with the planters, rocking chairs and two swings.
       Do you remember the yellow kitchen table and chairs and the huge sink?
       Do you remember Grandma's little garden next to the washroom out back and the old bottles Uncle Phillip collected there?
        Do you remember the big claw foot tub in the bathroom? Iris and I would get filfthy playing in the yard and Grandma would get us in the tub and add a touch of Lysol Disinfectant to the water. We would play for what seemed like hours, not thinking that we were monopolizing the only bathroom in the house.
        Do you remember "Evening in Paris" in the little blue bottles and "White Shoulders" perfume sitting on her dresser? These pre-dated her use of Channel No. 5.

Do you remember riding with Grandma in her green Chevy parked on the driveway above. How about the pee pot under the seat or going shopping with her to Smith Brothers for fresh meat for mishi and kibbee? Do you remember her GIANT pocketbooks?

        This is the view of Grandma we saw many many times - unwrapping something from the fridge to heat up for us to eat.
        I always loved to sit with her as she made the mishi and kibbee and labin, preaching all the while about how to live a good life, much like her father did when I was young.
        I remember her saying, "Mink coats and diamond rings don't bring you happiness." She would tell me about the importance of family and how rich she was and how all her needs were met through the grace of God. She would then beam her proudest smile and bring me up to date on the number of grandchildren she had.
        Do you remember the old kitchen (circa 1970) before the "yellow & green" remodel?
