Neil Gildea and Family

My Grandma Kate died on 7 February 1980 and prior to her death my three great aunts and she decided that they would pass on to me the pocket watch that my Great Grandfather Neil Gildea presented to his beautiful young bride, Mary Ivey, on their wedding day on February 29, 1892 in Jacksonville, Florida.
I asked my Aunt Honey for information on the family so I would have history to pass on with the watch. She prepared a brief but informative family tree and the story of Great Grandparents Neil Gildea and Mary Ivey. The work that she did back then is the basis for all my work that continues to this day.

There are a number of discrepancies in the history that have revealed themselves over the past 35 years. Please examine this annotated version of the family history that Aunt Honey created. Gildea Fischer Family History.

Please note that the Hannah Gildea who married McQuade was referenced in Mollie Slevin Dunlevy's letter to Honey and Sr. Daria from 1966-67 as Neil Gildea's aunt. It is thought that she may have identified her as "aunt" because she was writing to Honey and Sr. Daria and Hannah was "their aunt."

The history also menions other relatives in Boston: Mary Gildea Walsh and Margaret Gildea Gallagher.

A distant relative responded to a query and provided this information.
