According
to Naturalization papers, Detroit City Directories, business card and notation
in his diary, George was in Detroit circa 1924-1927, working at 8289 Oakland Avenue
and residing at 625 Smith Street or Avenue, before moving to Savannah. The postcards
I have collected are all from that general time period and reflect what Grandpa
Saraf would have seen as he walked the streets of downtown Detroit in the 1920's. |

Detroit City Hall
Title:
Birds eye view showing heart of Detroit Michigan. George probably visited
city hall to apply for business licenses. |

Downtown
Detroit
Title:
Cadillac Square looking east from city hall. You can see the Wayne County
Courthouse in the distance. No doubt George saw this same view when getting his
business license at city hall. |

Wayne County Courthouse
George
visited this courthouse several times to file and receive his naturalization papers.
