Souvenir Program Knights of Pythias
May 19th, 20th and 21st 1915
Savannah, Georgia

The program is quite large and the image to the left is 1/3 of a page featuring the Ladies of the Teutonia Temple No. 12. Included are Mrs. Catherina Murken, Miss Henrietta Fischer (married Henry Frederick Kuck and is daughter of John Fredrick Fischer and Katherina Murken and aunt of Neil Fischer, Sr.), Miss Elsie Kuck (daughter of Harry H. Kuck). Henrietta Fischer Russell was named after her father's sister.

Adelheid (Addie) G. Murken is the wife of Caston Henry Konemann. She is the sister of Martin Murken, Lena Murken, Annie Murken (married John Edward Struck) and Anna Katherina Murken (married John Frederick Fischer) (grandmother of Neil Fischer, Sr.)
Caption reads: Divan, Jemlah Temple, No. 129.
Great Grandpa John Frederick Fischer's obit states: "John F. Fischer, who has been prominently identified for years with activities of local secret orders and the military died yesterday at 5 a.m. at his residence, 611 Tattnall street..... He was a member of Franklin Lodge No. 7 K. of P., Jemlah Temple No. 129, D.O.K.K., Pythian Sisters, and Daytona Company, Uniform Rank, K. of P. The flag on the K.of P. building is at half mast in honor of Mr. Fischer. " I don't know if grandpa is in this photo, but he would have been 54 years old in 1915 when this program was produced. I have identified one of the persons; the man reclining is Royal Vizer, Albert C. Oelschig.

Caption reads: Capt. J. H. Murken, Regimental Quartermaster First Brigade.
I believe this could be John Henry Murken who was born 14 October 1862 and died 5 May 1924 who was married to Catherina Kuck on 27 September 1886. Family information provided by Katheryne McLendon on 29 May 2005.
